Miranda Lambert Signs Deal With Republic Records

Miranda Lambert Signs Deal With Republic Records

Miranda Lambert has signed a record deal with Republic Records in partnership with Big Loud, who will add support on country radio promotion as well as other marketing efforts.

Lambert's first release under the new deal will be the single "Wranglers," which will arrive on May 3.

"Miranda Lambert's legacy as both a consummate storyteller and legendary performer speaks for itself. Her new music is spectacular and we are thrilled and honored to welcome her to Republic Records in partnership with Big Loud," said Republic Founder and Chairman Monte Lipman.

"We're honored Miranda Lambert has entrusted us with this next chapter of her career," added Republic President and Chief Operating Officer Jim Roppo. "As she puts the final touches on her fantastic new body of work, it has all the hallmarks of her signature sound, yet she continues to push herself as a songwriter, producer and performer. We're all at the beginning of a very special moment, and we're grateful to be on this journey with her."

"Being in Texas with Jon, recording where I cut my teeth as a young artist, felt like coming home. I thought about the women-and men-who've lived, loved and found power in my music, and I wanted to get back to the root of those spaces," Lambert said. "Talking to Monte, Avery Lipman and the team at Republic, as well as Seth and the Big Loud folks who are leaning in, everyone understood my desires and vision for this next era of my music."

"Aligning like that is empowering; it gives you a license to really chase it. Signing with Republic has inspired me to find the sweet spot for me and all the people like me," she continued. "I can't wait for everyone to hear 'Wranglers,' and the rest of this record."

Randy Houser Bringing 'Country Back' With New Single

Randy Houser recently released a new single "Country Back," described as a full throttle proclamation of all things country.

The song was written by Houser and Matt Rogers and produced by Houser.

"We're taking our country back / Back to the hollers and hills / Show your bright light towns how a night goes down / Where dust on the bottle, boots on the throttle, horns on a Cadillac / Yeah, we're taking our country, our country back," Houser sings in the chorus.

Meanwhile, Houser is set to return to the road next month for headlining and festival dates this summer before kicking off the Country Round Here Tonight Tour with Justin Moore on September 5th in Charlotte.

Moore and Houser gave fans a preview of what's to come with a surprise performance of Toby Keith's "Should've Been A Cowboy" at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge in Nashville.

Taylor Swift Shares Video For Post Malone Collab 'Fortnight'

Taylor Swift Shares Video For Post Malone Collab 'Fortnight'

Taylor Swift recently released the music video for "Fortnight", her first collaboration with Post Malone. The song is from Swift's most recent album, The Tortured Poets Department.

"Fortnight" sees Swift sing about a romance that lasted just a couple of weeks. Malone joins Swift on the second verse and stays through the remainder of the song. "I've been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever. I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on 'Fortnight,'" Swift wrote in a statement.

The video, which Swift wrote and directed, also features Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles. It opens with Swift in a wedding gown but restrained to a hospital bed in an institution.

After taking a pill, she hallucinates various situations involving Malone's character. Eventually, Swift returns to reality and starts undergoing some sort of shock therapy.

"When I was writing the 'Fortnight' music video, I wanted to show you the worlds I saw in my head that served as the backdrop for making this music," Swift explained. "For me, this video turned out to be the perfect visual representation of this record and the stories I tell in it. Post Malone blew me away on set as our tortured tragic hero and I'm so grateful to him for everything he put into this collaboration."

"I still can't believe I get to work with the unfathomably brilliant Rodrigo Prieto on cinematography and my team of dream collaborators. The entire crew made this a dream to shoot," she added. "Thank you to everyone involved and everyone who has watched it!!"
